Engaging in research is one of the obligations of lecturers in fulfilling the Tri Dharma (three pillars: teaching, research, and community service) of higher education. Through research, many findings can be utilized to advance knowledge, technology, and arts, including the development of the education sector. Another duty of a lecturer is to conduct teaching in the classroom to deliver course materials and enhance students' knowledge of the latest developments in the field. Ideally, the taught materials should be up-to-date, derived from recent research findings.
To enhance the quality of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of Universitas Islam Riau, the lecturers at the faculty actively participate in research activities through rational, empirical, and systematic approaches
Also, in accordance with the guidance from the Ministry of Education and Culture, Research and Technology, lecturers should involve students in their research acitvities. This approach is designed to foster creativity, innovation, and quick responsiveness among students in addressing challenges. It enables students to develop their skills in conducting research and innovation.
